DAY 1
MARRAKESH – TIZI N’TICHKA – AÏT BENHADDOU – KASBAH OF SKOURA – DADÈS GORGES
Departure from Marrakesh after breakfast to the High Atlas, you’ll cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2260 m, along small Berber villages nestled among rugged mountain tops. The winding road shall lead you on a journey of discovery of breathtaking and varied panoramic views: mountains which according to the season may be dusted with snow or bare and arid, majestic and mysterious, steeped in secrets and history; vegetation ranging from palm to pine trees, and infinite plant species; valleys crossed by streams or rivers. Arrival at the fortified town of Aït Benhaddou. Visit and lunch. Visit to the palm tree groves and Kasbah of Skoura, along the road to El Kelaa M’gouna. You’ll then continue towards the Dadès valley, crossing the Valley of Roses. Arrival at hotel, dinner and over night stay.
DAY 2
DADÈS VALLEY – TODRA GORGE – ERFOUD – ERG CHEBBI MERZOUGA
After breakfast, departure for the Merzouga desert. Visit of palm tree grove and Todra Gorge with its enormous and majestic vertical rock cliffs. Our journey will then take us up to Erfoud (the city of fossils), followed by Merzouga. In the afternoon you’ll trade in your 4×4 for a camel which you’ll ride across the dunes of the desert (an hour and a half) up to the tented camp. Over night stay in typical Berber tents (jaima) in the heart of the desert, where you can admire the sunset, the stars, moon and sunrise like you have never seen them before….Dinner and over night stay.
DAY 3
MERZOUGA – RISSANI – N’KOUB – DRAA VALLEY – AGDEZ – OUARZAZATE – MARRAKESH
An early start to the day so that you can admire the sunrise, before riding a camel back to your Jeep. Departure for Rissani (first imperial city of Morocco), where we shall stop to visit the characteristic market, the largest in south Morocco. Then we’ll continue towards the Draa valley for a visit to the Tamnougalt Kasbah, in the heart of the valley. Once more we’ll cross the High Atlas chain; evening arrival in Marrakesh. Overnight stay.
